STORYTELLING & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT

In the world of educational children’s products, I like to weave stories through the products to create memorable teaching moments. I enjoy learning about and exploring different methods of storytelling whether it’s on the page, the stage, or through a game. In my personal creative time, I’ve written comedy sketches, plays, comics, puppet shows, scripts, and countless songs and poems. My current passion is performing longform improv (creating a play on the fly) which has taught me the most about worldbuilding and connecting the characters within it to let a story emerge.

COMICS

For Little Passports, we wanted to make the pen pal letters more engaging for the target age range of 3-5 years and to flesh out our characters more. I wrote and art directed 1-panel comics for visual storytelling expanding on the subscription’s themes. The top image is my sketch and the bottom is art by illustrator Patrick McEvoy.

EDUCATIONAL CONTENT

Writing content for kids isn’t always juicy and creative. Sometimes it requires explaining complex ideas in a clear, concise way.

WEB CONTENT

Little Passports decided to develop online content for each country in the World Edition subscription line. I worked with an in-house developer to design content for a site kids would be excited to explore with clickable audio files for languages, printable activity pages, music, fun quizzes, and more!
